<!-- AddThis Button END --></p>
<p>Ever since we have moved to a new, WordPress (self hosted) platform, I have been looking for a way to add Google Blogspot Friend Connect to our WordPress blog.  I am elated to say that finally found a way to do this and it is quiet easy.  Google helps you generate a snippet of code that you can insert into any blog, web site, or any social media page which allows you to add html text box (including Facebook!  Will talk more about it in the next post ;  )  )</p>
<p>Without further ado here is how to do it:</p>
<p>Log into Google Friend Connect:  <a title="Link to Google Friend Connect" href="http://www.google.com/friendconnect/" target="_blank">http://www.google.com/friendconnect/</a> by clicking on Get Started button:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.google.com/friendconnect/"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-216" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Google Friend Connect Step 1" src="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/google-friend-connect-step--300x187.gif" alt="Google Friend Connect Step 1" width="300" height="187" /></a></p>
<p>&#8230;or, sign in if you already have an account with Google.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">(Click on images to enlarge.)</p>
<p>Step 1:  Fill in site information to add your site/blog as illustrated below:</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_2.gif"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-219" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Google Friend Connect Step 2" src="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_2.gif" alt="" width="419" height="262" /></a><br />
Step 2:  Create  you Google Friend Connect Gadget:</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_4.gif"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-221" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Google Friend Connect step 4" src="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_4-300x187.gif" alt="" width="300" height="187" /></a></p>
<p>&#8230;and generate code:</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_6.gif"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-224" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Google Friend Connect step 6" src="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_6.gif" alt="" width="407" height="254" /></a></p>
<p>Step 3:  Log into to your blog Layout/Appearance console and add this snippet of code as an HTML text widget.</p>
<p><a href="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_7.gif"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-226" style="border: 1px solid black;" title="Google Friend Connect Step 7" src="http://blog.floreti.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/GgleFrndCnct_step_7.gif" alt="" width="362" height="376" /></a></p>
<p>Now, I welcome you to join the community  :  )</p>

<p>Plus!  Once you register with Google Friend Connect, there will be a number of other fun and interactive gadgets available for you to play with.  Just look over to your left hand side and click gadgets!</p>
<p>I will talk more about how to add this particular gadget to Facebook in the next post.  Until then&#8230;</p>
<p>Cheers!<br />
Floreti</p>
